Summarizing

Golden Nuggets

You will need:

• Reading material
• Yellow post-it notes
• Writing utensil

The reading assignment will be chunked into sections and assigned to individuals/groups

Time will be designated for each section to be read and the most important information to be summarized and recorded on the post-it note.  (Your golden nugget of information)

Each golden nugget will be shared with the class

Each student will take notes from the golden nuggets or each golden nugget will be posted on the class wiki.

Don’t Look Back

You will need

A current event article concerning Technology

    You may use a magazine or newpaper from the classroom or home

    You may use an article from www.cnn.com/tech

•    Record the following on a piece of paper—not copied into Word

•    Read the article

•    Put the article away (or close the browser)

•    Write a one-paragraph summary of the article

Summary

•    Include your name

•    Date

•    URL

•    Title

•    Author

Document should have 1” margins

Type is Times, 12 pt, Double-spaced   

Five sentence minimum, but no more than 15 lines of text
